Project Background
Most people don’t realize how pharmaceutical companies maintain high prices—not through innovation, but through deliberate manipulation of the patent and regulatory system. Tactics like "pay-for-delay," "patent thickets," "patent evergreening", and "authorized generics" are used to block competition and inflate costs. There’s little public awareness of these systems, especially among youth, despite their growing interest in social justice, healthcare, and policy. This campaign seeks to fill that gap with accessible education.
This initiative aims to educate the public—especially students, kids, and adults —about the anti-competitive tactics pharmaceutical companies use to delay generics and preserve monopolies. Through monthly webinars, expert talks, slideshows, and video content, the campaign breaks down complex legal and financial strategies into clear, understandable lessons.
